FOCUS AND SCOPE

Focus: Lentera Journal focuses on scholarly studies of Islam across diverse dimensions, including theology, law, history, culture, and contemporary Islamic thought. It serves as a platform for high-quality scientific research in Islamic studies, contributing to the global advancement of Islamic scholarship.

Scope: The journal accepts original articles covering, but not limited to, the following topics:
1. Islamic Theology
2. Islamic Law (Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh)
3. Islamic History and Civilization
4. Islam-Science Dialogue
5. Islamic Education
6. Islamic Economics
7. Islamic Sociology and Anthropology
8. Islamic Media and Da'wah

Lentera Journal welcomes submissions from academics, researchers, and practitioners engaged in evidence-based Islamic discourse. Published biannually (May and November) in English and Indonesian, all content is freely accessible online to promote global knowledge exchange. All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process to ensure scholarly rigour. The journal adheres to strict quality assurance standards and COPE publication ethics.

PEER-REVIEW PROCESS Lentera Journal publishes only original, unpublished work. Manuscripts are evaluated by field experts selected by the Editorial Board. Evaluation Stages (Duration: ≈3 months):

1. Submission: Online manuscript submission via journal platform.

2. Initial Screening: Editorial assessment for scope and formatting. Outcomes:
- Rejection if unsuitable, or
- Proceed to external review.

3. Author Notification: Screening results communicated.

4. External Review: Double-blind review by ≥2 experts (≈20 days). 5. Decision Compilation: Editorial Board consolidates reviewer reports. 6. Final Notification: Authors receive qualitative feedback and quantitative assessments.

PUBLICATION FREQUENCY Two electronic issues per year (May and November).

OPEN ACCESS POLICY Immediate free online access to all content under CC-BY license. Authors may self-archive preprints (pre-review) or postprints (post-review) in repositories.

PUBLICATION ETHICS & MISCONDUCT Adheres to COPE Guidelines:

- Originality: Rigorous plagiarism screening via Turnitin/iThenticate.
- Transparency: Publicly accessible review criteria. - Integrity: Corrections/retractions issued when required.
- Confidentiality: Anonymity maintained during double-blind review.
- Authorship: Collective approval of submissions required. Violations (plagiarism, data falsification) result in rejection/retraction.

AUTHOR RESPONSIBILITIES Authors must:
1. Certify originality and data accuracy.
2. Disclose conflicts of interest and funding sources.
3. Obtain co-author approval.
4. Cite current, relevant literature.

REVIEWER RESPONSIBILITIES Reviewers must:
- Provide constructive, unbiased feedback within deadlines.
- Declare conflicts of interest.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Assess: originality, significance, methodology, clarity. Editorial Decisions:
